The influence of Malcolm X. On the fourth anniversary of his death,an assessment of this impact on the present black movement, and a recollection of the man himself by his widow Betty Shabazz.

Crisis in medicine. A report by host Lou House on the inadequate medical care accorded most blacks today, a situation that is aggravated by a current decline in blacks entering medical and dental schools. Also, the report notes efforts being made to encourage blacks into these fields by the Council for Bio-Medical Careers in Chicago, the American Medical Association, and the National Medical Association.

Amateur night at the Apollo Theater. A film taken at Harlem’s popular hall, where many black entertainers have launched their careers in the past, focusing on a single night at the Apollo when aspiring singers and musicians make their debuts.

The derivation of the Afro look. Including a fashion showing of today’s styles, the segment traces their influences back to ancient Egypt, the Sudan, and South West Africa where the original “Afros” were born.
