In the film “Ashes to Ashes,” avid “Star Wars” fan and master leatherwork artist Winfred Rembert connects with his dear friend Shirley Jackson Whitaker, who is on a mission to memorialize the four thousand forgotten African-Americans lynched during the Jim Crow era.

So sad, But yet so Powerful at the same time!!!! This was an amazing testimony and a touching tribute to all those who were victimized in that era. Thank you for shedding light on the remnants of this kind of trauma and effects of such an atrocity.
Revelation 12:11
And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony. And they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.
Thank you for preserving and sharing this documentary. Winfred Rembert’s testimony is not only history; it is a call to study, organize, document, and build institutions with discipline.
I am interested in connecting with anyone involved in Afrikan Black historical preservation, archive-building, community education, or lawful organizing. Are there recommended contacts, study groups, volunteer pathways, or organizations connected to this platform?
My reference point is the organizing intention modeled by the Universal Negro Improvement Association’s preamble and by-laws: disciplined unity, education, self-reliance, and institutional development.
