El Hajj Malik El Shabazz – Biography of Malcolm X Black Nationalist | Pt. 1

This documentary “El Hajj Malik El Shabazz” (1978) traces the life and legacy of Malcolm X, highlighting his transformation from a troubled youth involved in crime to a powerful and uncompromising voice for Black empowerment and self-determination.

Born Malcolm Little, he endured a traumatic childhood before turning to crime and being imprisoned. In prison, he discovered the teachings of Elijah Muhammad and the Nation of Islam. Emerging as Malcolm X, he became a dynamic orator and leader, advocating for Black nationalism and self-defense in the face of systemic oppression.

His radical stance often contrasted with the nonviolent approach of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.. As Malcolm’s fame grew, so did tensions within the Nation of Islam. Eventually, he split from the Nation, seeking a more inclusive and global vision for justice.
