Through historical evidence and expert insights, Part 2 of “The Price of Silence” highlights the grassroots movement that exposed how corrupt New Jerseyan officials manipulated state emancipation laws for profit in the 19th century, tearing families apart and shipping human cargo out of the port city of Perth Amboy.
“The Price of Silence” also examines how historical injustices directly connect to New Jersey’s modern systemic disparities in housing, wealth, and youth incarceration. Additionally, singer Danielle Cotton shares her deeply personal journey as a Black artist and entertainer.
